Hey World! So... this is my blog.
It's about the New York underground movement of the sixites and its relationship to the later punk scene. Typified by the Velvet Underground and New York Dolls.
The sources I already used for my annotated bibliography are as follows, and they were all very helpful.
Gracyk, Theodore. “What goes on: The double-bind of theorizing Rock.” Literature and Psychology. 44.3 (1998): 1-22
Stratton, Jon. “Jews, punk and the Holocaust: from the Velvet Underground to the Ramones – the Jewish-American story.” Popular Music. 24.1 (2005): 79-105
Taylor, Steven. “Deliberate Amnesia: Punk’s Origin Myths.” False Prophet: Field Notes from the Punk Underground. Middleton, CT: Wesleyan University Press, 2003. 38-57
Watson, Steven. “1966.” Factory Made: Warhol and the sixties. New York: Pantheon Books, 2003. 257-302
The last two are available at the UQ library for all fellow UQ students. The others (the journal articles) can be accessed through the library website.
